Jane and Peter got married on a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Curzon Hall along Agincourt Rd. in Marsfield. Their reception followed afterwards at BareWitness Cafe in Rhodes, which Jane owns and manages.

So how did you guys meet?

Peter's best man is married to Jane's maid of honor. "We met at their wedding as their bridesmaid and best man almost 8 years ago. That's how we first met. But we only started dating 2 years ago, when this married couple decided to 'set us up' out of the blue and have a random dinner one night.

"So pretty much, our friends made this happen."

What does marriage mean to you?

"It means companionship - having someone there, walking through life together."

How did things go leading up to the wedding?

Jane recounted, "Total nightmare, as the construction for the reception venue literally finished the day before. Close friends and family came down together and helped us set up the venue. I purchased every single item for the reception, from forks to napkins to organising staffing for the night."

We're so glad everything came together for the wedding, and in just less than a day's preparation!

What was the inspiration behind your wedding?

"We wanted something that was more 'us' - something more casual than a formal setting."

Tell us about your DIY projects.

"We did the whole reception place DIY. From the festoon lights to the ivy. We bought every single cutlery, cup, wine glass, and plate - even wines and beers!

"Everything was DIY. There was nothing at the reception we didn't get our hands on," Jane shared.

Any advice for other couples planning a wedding?

"DIY is good, but maybe not EVERYTHING. haha!"

Talk to us about your dress, where is it from?

"Bought a cheap dress from a bridal store and altered to change the design and size."
